Why need some Special Characteristic for Plastic Materials?

 Normally,plastic materials don't have the special characteristic in the market. But some products need to use in outdoor with High UV environment. if not, the life of material is very short.Other products need to use the places with fire, if not Flare-Resistant, product is easy to burn and is very dangerous.

UV Resistance 

   UV resistance refers to a material's ability to avoid degradation caused by the abosorption of UV radiation.The sun's UV rays break doun chermical bonds in polymers, causing plastics to wear down and disintegrate over time. This is known as photodegradation.

  Photodegradtion can cause discoloration,contributing to loss of impact and tensile strength and making plastics brittle and prone to cracking or breaking. UV damage also negatively impacts elongation, which is the ability of a material to resist changes before irreversible deformation.

Flame Resistant 

  Some high performance plastics can be classified as flame resistant plastic, flame retardant plastic, non flammable plastic or inherently self extinguishing, making them suitable for use where fire protection is an issue. Thermoplastic materials in general are not properly flameproof in the real sense of the term because if exposed to direct flame they will start to burn. But while most plastics will continue to burn once the flame is removed, self extinguishing plastics will cease to burn in the absence of flame. There are various standards which classify the flammability of plastics. Normally, the internationally accepted flammability test for plastics described in UL94 is performed.
